Tasty Treat: Chocolate Pretzels

Wednesday, December 19, 2012

STEP BY STEP

You Need: Pretzels, chocolate chips, Crisco, candy canes, walnuts or other toppings

1.   Crush toppings into find pieces and place in a bowl.  Using a shallow bowl makes it much easier to dip the pretzels!  Set the bowl next to your stove for easy access and lay out some wax paper to use as the pretzel drying area.
2.   Place chocolate chips in pot or double boiler and slowly melt the chocolate on low heat.  Add a few teaspoons of Crisco to help liquefy the chocolate (butter or veg. oil can be used instead of Crisco)
3.   When the chocolate is completely melted, dip one pretzel at a time into the chocolate.  Gently shake the pretzel to remove the excess chocolate.  Dip into the topping dish, shake off the excess toppings and place on the wax paper to dry.
4.   Repeat!

P.S. Create fun combinations using milk chocolate, dark chocolate, caramel, peanuts, heath bar,   reeses pieces… The options are endless!

Happy Holidays!
