Beauty School: Vintage Waves

Wednesday, March 6, 2013

Romantic vintage waves are one of my favorite tricks to pump up the drama in the hair department!

These waves look challenging but are actually amazingly simple.  They give a glamorous vibe to any outfit and will make you look effortlessly glamorous.

I recently styled these waves for a black tie event, and they were a big hit.  I think there is something refreshing and modern about bringing back vintage looks.

Follow these steps and add a little glamour to your life!

WHAT YOU NEED
- 1.5 inch curling iron
- Hairspray
- Wide Toothed Comb

STEP BY STEP
1. Divide your hair into two sections (top & bottom) and clip the top section up and out of the way
2. Curl the bottom section towards your face in one inch sections
3. When you release each curl make sure it stays intact and cools while still curled
4. Once the entire bottom section is curled, hairspray the entire section
5. Repeat step 2 and curl the top section towards your face
6. If you have bangs, style them as normal (I gently bend my bangs away from my face)
7. Once all hair is curled, hair spray again and allow the curls to cool for a few minutes
8. Once curls are completely cooled, take a wide tooth comb and gently comb through hair from top to bottom. The curls should start to melt into each other.
9. Slowly comb your curls until the curls have reached your desired style
10.  Try adding a bright lip or a fun hair clip to pull the whole look together!

Enjoy!
